Books.

Before the internet took over, I would read at least two books a week.  Now, every time I open up a book I just wonder if I have a new email or if someone tweeted at me....or I start to think about my Netflix queue.  It's pitiful, really.  So I'm gonna get back on it.  I'm currently reading Kafka on the Shore and next in line is Stephen King book that Skye's mom sent me.

Tell me:  What are your book recommendations?  I'll add them to my "stop being stupid" queue.

Celebrating steps in the right direction.

Please excuse the crappy cell phone pics.

Oh!  Major goody bag scores!  Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, some fuschia Kate Spade lipstick and two tubes of Tarte Amazonian Clay Mascara.  I'm really excited about the Tarte mascara as I've been paying close attention to the things that I put on/in my body.  If it has chemicals that sound ominous, I stay away.  I'm not too sure about how the Fresh cleanser fares...it's marketed so that it seems all-natural, but some of the ingredients seem sketchy.  And as for the the Kate Spade lipstick, I'm pretty sure it's not the greenest product, but it does get some points for coming in a really cool tube...and it's a pretty color....   :/

Bird party

Last night my coworkers and I attended the Prospect Park Junior Committee's Summer Soiree.  Electric boat rides, Thai rum, and dancing!  Oh, and Bill Cunningham took my picture.  Of course, in typical Natasha fashion, I had just stuffed my face with some pesto pasta salad and my cheeks were completely full of food while he snapped my photo.  Oh god.  I mean, I have been daydreaming about this moment for so long and it finally comes and I have a face full of pasta!  I can't complain though...I am so incredibly honored that he even took my photo!  He was the sweetest man--just like in his movie.  I doubt it'll get published, but that's ok!

Twin Peaks interiors

I know the internet has been seeing a lot of Twin Peaks lately, thanks to Netflix adding it to Instant Watch, but I can't help myself.  I took a lot of screenshots while I watched the series.  One of the things I really loved about the show were the sets--specifically the homes of the main characters.  Laura's room is just perfect.

Things that brighten your day.

Coming home to a postcard sent from Skye while he was in Portugal really made me smile...especially after an 11 hour work day.
What brightens up your day and makes you smile?

PS--Check out some funny pictures of me wearing some of the adorable new Isabel Marant Etoile.  (Those first black fringe boots are not my style, but hats off to those than can pull them off!)

Fourth of July photos

Someone's missing a hat.

Fourth of July! We packed up our snacks, blankets, and fruit soaked in vodka (shh!) and headed out to the Rockaways. We laid out in the sun, swam against the waves, ate Rockaway Tacos, and....ate our fruit. It was the perfect 4th of July. After a whole day in the sun, we headed home, washed the sand off, cooked "BBQ" food on our kitchen stove and enjoyed our 360 view of illegal fireworks in Bushwick. (We saw the big show in the city from our roof too!).
