What I got: APC warehouse sale edition

I had been waiting for the APC sale for weeks (that may be sad, but who cares).  Finally, it had arrived.  I really hadn't planned on spending that much money, but the prices were amazing and there was SO MUCH good stuff.  It was overwhelming to say the least.
Maybe some day I'll post pictures of me wearing the stuff, but taking pictures of yourself is so strange.  I have a hard enough time doing it for my Etsy, which might explain why I haven't updated it in a loooong time.  I never feel like (or think of) taking pictures of my outfits.  It just seems too self involved or something.
ANYWAYS:
(Top to bottom, left to right)
Reddish orange hooded APC jacket that I've been wanting forever, amazing khaki Madras cape, burgundy brown short sleeved APC sweater, long liberty print "Amish" APC dress, Madras overall shorts!

I just post have these pictures because I am so excited about my new clothes!!

It's May!

It's finally May, which means the end of April showers (hopefully) and the beginning of May flowers.  May arriving also means that I get to see my boyfriend soon! I watched this movie on Netflix instant last month as it popped up in my suggested movies after I added Food, Inc to my queue. (? ) Turns out, they're only related because the husband in this movie is nuts and he is a health freak.  I wouldn't necessarily recommend this movie as it was a bit boring, but I got some nice stills out of it!

Recently acquired.

I've gone a little crazy when it comes to "buying" clothes lately, but it is just so hard when you're constantly surrounded by beautiful clothes....and the weather is changing so I have nothing to wear....(insert more excuses that'll make me feel better). I have never been one to spend a ton of money on clothes. I have always been happy thrifting and scrounging for cheap deals (I still am!) but as I "mature", I feel like filling my closet with quality goods that I can have for a looong time.  Luckily, I earn money towards clothing at my job, so pretty much all of these babies are mine guilt free!

(From top, left to right) Kork-Ease platforms*, No.6 Kiltie clogs, Rag & Bone jeans, Madras APC cotton embroidered dress, Steven Alan striped maxi dress, Girl Band of Outsiders cropped sweater, Won Hundred button up*, Madewell linen tee.

(All from Bird with the exception of those asterisk'd.)

Menswear bags: Lotuff & Clegg

I have always been one for wearing men's clothing.  Whenever I get the chance, I steal my boyfriend's chambray button-ups or his oversized tweed APC sweater (I LOVE THAT THING).  Another area of menswear that I simply love is men's bags.  We just started carrying Lotuff & Clegg where I work and their pieces are going so fast.  When we first opened up the box of goods, all of my co-workers immediately picked their favorite bag, brought it over to the full-length mirror, and started to imagine what life would be like if only they owned it.  Here are just a few of my favorite pieces.

Oh, and another great thing about this company; the bags are all made in Massachusetts and they're vegetable tanned!

(I would totally use this as an oversized clutch)

You can even request  custom tote here!

Modern Girls

I have a serious Netflix instant addiction. I can't sit at home without having something playing in the background. This Friday I chose an 80s gem called "Modern Girls". Watch as two (and sometimes three) girls drag around "nice guy with a borrowed sweet ride" to all the hot LA clubs. Romance and crazy hi jinx ensue.

Sitting in a room ready a magazine about Bruce Willis?? Anyway, how dreamy is that room?

I wanted a Pacer so bad in high school. Mostly because of this.

Why were the 80s SO EIGHTIES. Every mainstream movie or music video (or music, for that matter) is so blatantly 80s. The crazy hair, the goofy sidekick friend with "wacky style", overloaded accessories....overloaded EVERYTHING. I dunno, I kinda love it, though. The nostalgia of it all. Even though I was barely even born yet.

Different ways to help.

Everyday, news about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan break my heart. Although I have never been to Nippon land, it is where my family is from and it's very dear to me. I think most of us know about the conventional ways to help out (Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc), but there are some other fun ways that you can help!

Tonight, in NYC, Zero + Maria Cornejo ar
e holding a benefit where all proceeds with go to Doctors Without Borders. Get some signed t-shirts and Polaroids and help out a good cause!

3.1 Phillip Lim (one of my faves!) is holding a sample sale!! Give money to the Red Cross while scoring on some amazing clothes.
And last but not least, United Bamboo is also holding a sample sale for relief efforts.

Home.

One of my "favorite" pastimes is torturing myself with the apartment section on Craigslist. I can spend hours a day looking at studio apartments, imagining myself living in them, how I would decorate them...and how happy I would be without roommates....
Until then, a girl can fantasize. (And plan)

Most of these pictures come from one of my favorite home inspiration sites, Apartment Therapy.
