Some photos that Skye took while we were in Amsterdam. Although the last one isn't exactly flattering, it makes me laugh so I had to put it on here. We had been out walking all day and we stopped at our hotel room for a bit before dinner (it was 5PM). I made myself a coffee and promptly fell asleep for a few hours. When I woke up, we were both too lazy to go out to dinner and we ended up ordering pizza (online, from a Dutch website!) from a place called New York Authentic Pizza or something like that. Oh, MTV and VH1 actually play music videos 24/7--mostly just from the 90s, 80s, and 70s....so that made it even harder to leave our hotel room!
Breakfast made from Christmas Eve dinner leftovers. Mix mom's garlic mashed potatoes, salmon, and some brie in a pot. Put potato mixture in oven safe dish, top with Jenna's arugula, cabbage, marscapone, truffle oil salad, crack an egg on it, shred some smoked soy gouda on top. Put in oven, bake until egg is cooked. Eat. Yum! (Make sure you give it ample time to cool down. I burnt the roof of my mouth real bad on this stuff)
Film stills from the Woody Allen film, Love & Death. Did you know that thanks to Woody's infamous neuroticism, he did not suffer from dysentery while filming this movie? He was so wary of Budapest's food, that he only ate canned food and bottled water from America. Most of the cast and crew ended up getting dysentery. Yikes.
Anyways, Diane's hair in this movie! I need to try some of those crazy updos.
Screenshots were taken by me! Please credit if you would like to re-post.
So happy my mom was able to visit me this Christmas! We had a wonderful dinner last night with good friends, good food, and good drinks :)
I hope you all have/had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season!
I ordered one of these awesome calanders at Bird last month and it's prematurely up on my wall! (I got the kittens of course). Each month features a new adorable sketch along with a lyric to some classic song that you most likely love. They're available in kittens, bird & bunnies, or feathers. Get 'em at Bird or on the Wild Unknown site.
Skye got me the most amazing Christmas present--a trip to Europe! I flew from JFK to Brussels airport and from Brussels to Leeds-Bradford, which apparently is one of the most dangerous airports to fly into. I found this out after I had safely landed, thank goodness. We were in one of those tiny airplanes and those scare me enough as it is. We hung out all day at the O2 Academy, then drove overnight to London. We got to spend one day in London (unfortunately, that roll of film turned out blank--what the heck.) And then the wonderful Ben and Cil drove us to Heathrow where we flew out to Amsterdam and spent four amazing days there. I had never been to Europe or the UK before, so this was all very exciting and new to me. I really didn't want to come home. I wish I could travel around for months--there's so many cities I would love to see! Anyways, more pictures to come in a bit!
